Asturfeito updates its corporate compliance policy

26.10.2023 - ASTURFEITO updates its corporate compliance policy and approves a Code of Conduct, in coordination with the previous implementation of the Internal Information System and the Ethics Channel.

The Board of Directors of ASTURFEITO, S.A., in the process of continuous improvement of the company and in accordance with its commitment to the society, agreed on June 30, 2023, the update of the corporate compliance policy. Asturfeito thus has a policy fully compliant with the recent legislative changes in the matter, which establish reinforced obligations for commercial companies, in order to strengthen preventive measures in this area and to ensure the optimum standard of compliance.

This policy, among other measures, identifies activities in which preventive measures and policies need to be adopted, analysing risks and their potential impact. It also sets out the decision-making processes within the company and their implementation, adapting them to this preventive model, and incorporates a Compliance Committee as a compliance body. Likewise, information and training policies are established for the proper compliance with the policy. In addition, the corporate compliance policy provides for its own periodic verification and modification.

The Board of Directors also approved the ASTURFEITO Code of Conduct. The Code of Conduct is a complement to the applicable legal provisions themselves and forms together with them the ethical standard required for ASTURFEITO and its stakeholders.

The Code of Conduct includes the set of general rules and principles of corporate governance and ethical conduct that are applicable to ASTURFEITO professionals and that are valid to establish the guiding parameters of the corporate culture of the company. Thus, it includes the enunciation of the corporate values of ASTURFEITO and the required ethical standards, in addition to the internal regulations of the company. The Code of Conduct also includes ASTURFEITO’s guidelines and  best practices for that purpose.

Both measures were taken in addition to the establishment of the Internal Information System and the Ethical Channel, which ASTURFEITO has already implemented in June 2023. These policies are fully compliant with the provisions of Law 2/2023, of 20 February, regulating the protection of persons reporting on regulatory and anti-corruption infringements, in a coordinated manner with the implementation of the corporate compliance policy. In this context, the Ethical Channel that ASTURFEITO has in place is the internal information channel to enable the collection of information on infringements in the work or professional context, as required in article 2 of the Law 2/2023.
